Tesla has released an update for its Android and iOS apps that will bring a smile to the faces of those who own a Powerwall product. The app now displays a bunch of useful info including real-time data on solar power generation, battery power flow, as well as household energy consumption.

It will also let you know when a power outage occurs and the Powerwall battery kicks in to keep the lights on. Other new features include the option of adjusting the amount of power the product stores and checking the current Powerwall status.

Tesla’s Powerwall is an interesting product that can store solar power generated during the day, so it can be used to power a home at night when the sun is down. With the new update, it is now a lot more useful as owners are able to check a number of different things and even control certain functionalities of the battery with their smartphones. The second generation of the energy storage product — Powerwall 2 — made its debut last year, is capable of storing 14 kWh, and costs a little more than $6,000.

The latest update should already be available for all users. To try out the new features, simply update the app on your mobile device and you’re good to go.
